CAP COM delivers gifts to adopted Christmas angels

Tuesday, 16 December 2014 14:50

ALBANY, N.Y. — CAP COM Federal Credit Union is expanding its holiday cheer to more than 200 seniors in the Capital Region through a partnership with Colonie Senior Service Centers.

CAP COM staff and volunteers adopted these senior "angels" to help bring smiles to more faces this holiday season. CAP COM volunteers and Colonie Senior Service Centers staff will deliver these beautiful gifts to seniors who are part of Colonie Senior Service's Umbrella of Colonie. The program gives elderly individuals the help they need to safely live on their own and maintain their independence.

CAP COM's President & CEO Paula Stopera said, "Partnerships like this are the heartbeat of a better community. The holiday season is about so much more than just gift giving, it's about creating traditions, making memories and sharing smiles."

"The staff and volunteers at CAP COM exemplify time and time again that they are dedicated to their community and the generosity they are showing to seniors this holiday season is just another example of that. Colonie Senior Service Centers is proud to partner with CAP COM on this initiative as part of their dedication to Umbrella of Colonie. Together, our organizations are able to help hundreds of area seniors remain in their homes, safely," said Edward Neary, Executive Director of Colonie Senior Service Centers.
