Monday, 01 June 2015 18:33

ALBANY, NY – CAP COM Federal Credit Union is awarding 20 members $2,500 scholarships on behalf of the CAP COM Cares Foundation's Weidner "Ed" Davis Scholarship. Each year the CAP COM Cares Foundation accepts applications from members who are high school seniors planning to attend college or young adults currently attending college up to age 25. Applicants are asked to answer an essay question in 500 words or less to be considered for the scholarship program. This year, the following question was presented: "What is the most significant challenge facing college students today? How will you overcome this challenge and use your experience to become a better leader for tomorrow?"

The CAP COM Cares Foundation received a total of 300 applications. Staff from the William K. Sanford Town Library volunteered their time and expertise to assist in evaluating the essays this year, and our 20 winners have been selected.
