Raffle raises BIG money for charity

ALBANY, NY – The CAP COM Cares Foundation named eight winners during a drawing for its Big Benefit Raffle on Tuesday, May 6, and also recognized two local companies with the CAP COM Community Partner Award.

Winners of one $10,000 grand prize, one $5,000 prize and six $1,000 prizes were selected at a raffle drawing on Tuesday, May 6. They were:

Larry Turner, Albany
Kathy Narciso, Bloomingburg

Vincent Hopkins, Niskayuna
Shawn Dettenrieder, Tribes Hill

The Foundation is the charitable arm of CAP COM Federal Credit Union and its Big Benefit Raffle raised $66,500 to be poured back into the Foundation's community support initiatives and scholarship programs.

"The money we've raised allows us to make a difference for so many people in so many ways," said Paula Stopera, CAP COM President/CEO. "Thank you for your generosity and your willingness to help."

At the raffle drawing ceremony, CAP COM also recognized two of the local businesses that offer credit union membership to their employees with the 2014 CAP COM Community Partner Award. The CAP COM Cares Foundation presented each company with a $1,000 contribution to the charity of their choice.

"We are honored to partner with local businesses that share our commitment to serving those who need it most," said Theresa C. Petrone, Foundation and Public Relations Administrator.
