The goal of the CAP COM Cares Tour is to promote random acts of kindness throughout the region. The initiative is designed to pay it forward to our members, member companies and Foundation partners and to encourage the community to participate.
Typically held the second week of August, the Tour may find CAP COM employees surprising shoppers at Hannaford by paying for their groceries at checkout, showing up at a member company location to distribute free ice cream to employees, or wish list items to local shelters in the region.
To encourage random acts of kindness throughout the community, the Foundation promotes and sponsors a contest on social media during the week-long event. Members of the community who post pictures of their own acts of kindness, with the hashtags #capcomcares and #sharethecare, are entered to win one of three $250 donations made in their name to the charity of their choice!
