Let’s walk together in a show of strength and hope to find a cure for breast cancer. You’re invited to join the CAP COM Cares team at the 2019 American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Albany’s Washington Park.
Prepare to be inspired and have a lot of fun! Register with team CAP COM Cares and you’ll receive a custom-designed T-shirt to wear with pride. Consider signing up with your friends, family and co-workers to make an even greater impact!
Sunday, October 20
10:00 a.m. - Registration at the CAP COM tent
10:30 a.m. - Team photo under the balloon arch
11:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony
Noon - Walk begins!
At the walk
Visit CAP COM’s registration table at the Strides walk to pick up your T-shirt. Canan the cardinal keepsake will also be available for purchase. Proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society.
Be sure to join team CAP COM Cares for a photo under the balloon arch at 10:30 before we start Making Strides! Survivors will receive a complimentary Strides cardinal at the presentation before the walk, while supplies last.
General parking is available at:
- The Stratton VA Hospital B, C and D lots (please enter through the New Scotland Ave Entrance)
- The Empire State Plaza parking lots
- Thurlow Terrace parking lot at the University of Albany corner of Thurlow Terrace and Western Avenue
- On the street
There are no shuttles. Limited handicapped parking is available in the park, but cars cannot exit before the walk is completely finished, after 2 p.m.
Meet Canan and Support Strides
If you are unable to join us for the walk, you can still support Strides. Consider making a donation or purchasing "Canan," our plush cardinal keepsake. Take home your very own Canan for $10 from any CAP COM branch throughout October (while supplies last). Proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society.
