CAP COM Annual Meeting

Annual Meeting Elections

Elections1 for open seats on the Credit Union Board of Directors will be held at the meeting. The Nominating Committee has nominated the following candidates for the open terms.

Mr. Horning has been a Credit Union member since 1965 and the former Credit Union CEO from 1984-1995.  He’s been a Credit Union volunteer for 46 years and has been on the Board of Directors since 1974.  He was Chairman from 1997 to 2000.  He has served on the Board of CAP COM Financial Services as well as many other volunteer committees. Harold, retired form NYNEX in 1984 after 31 years of employment, and is an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America as well as the Directory Alumni Council and is involved in various golf leagues.  Harold was most recently awarded with the NAFCU Volunteer of the Year award for his dedication and commitment to the industry and CAP COM FCU as a whole.

Mr. Patrick Kelly, originally from Glens Falls, New York, earned his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at Clarkson College and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering at The Rochester Institute of Technology.  He has worked in the communications industry for over 35 years and has been employed at Verizon for over 28 years.  Mr. Kelly has been a member of the Credit Union for over 32 years and a Credit Union Board of Director since 1990.  He has served on many Credit Union committees over the years and is currently Chairman of the Board of Managers of the CAP COM GROUP. He and his wife Maryann reside in Niskayuna.

John Ericson is recently retired as a Detective from the crime scene investigation unit for Schenectady Police Department, where he served for 25 years.  John is currently employed at Schalmont School District as a Bus Driver.  John attended Hudson Valley Community College Zone 5 Law Enforcement Academy, graduating as a New York State Certified Police Officer.  He and his wife, Lisa, of 26 years have two children named Natalie and Zachary.  John volunteers his time at the Ancient Order of Hibernians where he currently serves as their Board President. In his spare time, John owns Little John's BBQ which takes up his weekends during the spring, fall, and summer. He has been a member of the Credit Union since 1982, has served on many Credit Union Committees over the years and in 2015 was appointed as a member on the CAP COM’s Board of Director’s team.

1. Other nominations can be made by petition and must be submitted by Feb. 9, 2018. Petitions require signatures of 500 CAP COM FCU members. If you would like to be nominated by petition, please submit a signed certificate stating that you are agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected. You must also provide a resume or bio including your education and experience. To obtain a blank certificate, call (800) 468-5500 ext. 3245 or download a petition here. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor during the Annual Meeting and there will be no balloting if there is only one nominee for each vacant position. Nominations received from the Nominating Committee and from petitions shall be posted in the Credit Union’s offices and on our website at least 35 days before the Annual Meeting.
