Open a Savings Account when your child is born and start him on the path to a fiscal future. Save with Direct Deposit or stash birthday and holiday checks from family. Your child will learn how to save for something special. School-age children can earn their own money by participating in our Great Grades and Reading Programs page.
We partner with over 70 local schools to promote financial literacy with our School Banking program. You can meet our School Banking Team, here. Volunteers collect money on set days and bring it to a local branch for deposit into your child’s account. School Bankers receive a welcome kit, including a t-shirt and savings register, and earn prizes for every fifth deposit. Does your school participate? Check below.
Students in grades K through 12 with active Youth Accounts1 can earn $30 for their final, end-of-year report card when submitted by August, 31, 2016*. We believe that education builds a strong foundation for our future leaders, so we reward our young members for report cards they are proud of. They’ll learn the importance of saving money as well as an understanding that working hard and budgeting can help their future.
Nothing opens a child’s mind faster than a good book. We let our young members know how much we value literacy by offering three opportunities to earn money for reading books. Students in grades Kindergarten through 12 can earn up to $10 ($2 per book) during our Fall, Winter and Summer Reading Programs. Click here to download the form and members with active Youth Accounts1 could earn up to $30 per year!*
Each year, CAP COM pays special recognition to the Firefighters and Police Officers who put their lives in danger to save others. We get our young members involved, too, with special drawing contests to commemorate National Police Week in May and Fire Prevention Week in October. Winning artists receive cash prizes at a special ceremony with local firefighters and police officers.
