How to tell if you are in Private Browsing Mode

Open a Firefox window. Do you see a purple color Firefox button? That means you have manually entered Private Browsing Mode. You can still access your internet banking in this mode, but you will have to verify your personal computer each time.

There is a way to be in Private Browsing Mode without a visual indicator (purple button). You may still be in Private Browsing Mode without knowing if you have selected "Always use private browsing mode" in the options.

Firefox Private Browsing

How to leave Private Browsing Mode

Block all html cookies except CAPCOM's

If cookies are disabled, you will see this message when trying to log into CAPCOM's internet banking.
(Note: If this is not intentional, please click here for instructions how to properly configure Firefox settings to be compatible with internet banking.)

Firefox Cookie

If you want to keep blocking cookies ("Never remember history" or "Always use private browsing mode"), but want to access CAPCOM's online banking, you will need to setup an exception.

There are 2 methods for this. Both methods accomplish the same task, but Method 1 is much more efficient if you plan on whitelisting more sites.

Method 1

Open Firefox Options

  1. Click the "Firefox" button at the top left of your window.
  2. Under the "Options" dropdown, click "Options".

Firefox Cookie

Activate custom History settings

  1. Click the "Privacy" tab.
  2. Under the "History" sections, open the "Firefox will:" dropdown.
  3. Select "Use custom settings for history."

Firefox Cookie

Prompt cookies

  1. Make sure "Accept cookies from sites" is selected.
  2. Open the "Keep until:" dropdown.
  3. Select "ask me every time."

Firefox Cookie

From now on every time a first-party cookie attempts to lodge itself in your browser cache you’ll be prompted to allow or block it.

  1. Make sure "Use my choice for all cookies from this site" is selected.
  2. Click the "Allow" button. This will automatically add this site to an exception list.

Firefox Cookie

Method 2

Open Firefox Options

  1. Click the "Firefox" button at the top left of your window.
  2. Under the "Options" dropdown, click "Options".

Firefox Cookie

Open Exception list

  1. Navigate to the "Privacy" tab.
  2. Under the "History" section, click the "Exceptions..." button.

Firefox Cookie

Add exception

  1. Under "Address of website:", enter "https://www.capcomfcuonlinebanking.org"
  2. Click the "Allow" button.
  3. Click the "Close" button.

Firefox Cookie

Keep in mind that while adding CAPCOM's internet banking website to your exception list will allow you access internet banking and no longer ask you to verify your computer, anytime you clear the History (whether manually or automatically), you will have to verify your computer the next time you try to access CAPCOM's internet banking. This is because clearing your history is setup to delete cookies by default, and unfortunately, the exception list does not apply when you clear the history. If you would like to change your clear history settings so it will not delete cookies, follow Firefox history settings.
